Are my bananas ruined?

Re: Are my bananas ruined?
Hard to say. if you think it is sunburn, why not put a white shade over the bunch?

Re: Are my bananas ruined?
Those are Orinoco and can be cooked green like plantation nanas. Or as Tostone (fried salted nana chip) .... good! ....
Put up a shade over the bunch it you want more of the bunch to ripen. ... Also, I would cut the first (top) hand on each bunch and let ripen in the kitchen. Those are showing some color change. |
Re: Are my bananas ruined?
Flower opened beginning of June and it’s only been 2 months. Maybe the 105+ degrees all month is causing this?

The nanas are plump and filled out. They will continue to ripen if the bunch is cut.
With lots of water and fertilizer, they can fill out in 60 days or a little less. Try cooking them: Puerto Rican Tostones (Fried Plantains) Recipe |
