Musa sikkimensis growth in 8 hours...
This is a Musa sikkimensis manipur I have cut leaves off (except one for a friend to see) so that I can mail it out after work. The two black lines indicate the amount of growth in the last 8 hours (7am to 3pm).
I had NEVER watched a naner grow, and now that it's right in front of me at my desk, I can't stop watching it. It has grown about 1/2 an inch. Call me weird, but I feel like a little kid hatching sea monkeys for the first time. XD |

Pretty kewl actually.
I might suggest you stay away from a cornfield on a warm July night (you can hear it grow). You'd NEVER get any work done |

I know what you mean. I love watching my bananas put out new leaves and have seen even more growth than that in my Saba that is still indoors in my bird room where it is nice and warm. I swear every time I walk in that room which is many times a day, it grew some more. It got kind of beat up over the past few winters so I baby it a little. All my others are outside already.
