Musa 'Chinichampa'
does anyone know if this will breed true from seed?

Re: Musa 'Chinichampa'
Since this plant is not a wild species, I removed it from that forum and placed it here.
I haven't heard of any edible banana that is able to breed true from seed. Assuming you could even get it to set any seed from its own pollen, it is likely the progeny would all be very different. It may not even be able to set seed very well, I can't find any references that it can't, but based on the info I have it doesn't appear to be a very prolific seed setter as some cultivars can be. |

Kev,
I know its still early but have you seen any signs of germination yet ? I got some from the same supplier and have sowed them only a week or so back. Got to have something to do in the winter :nanadrink: |
