We are raising five head of cattle and will use the stems as fodder also since the compost piles are big now. Thanks

I wish you live near my house ..So i can get some real cow manure. The pricy cow manure at wallmart and homedepot etc are full of sand and soil.

Ditto on that! I've got 300 lbs of Blk Kow on hand and I estimate it's 85% sand.

If I had 5 acres in western St Lucie county I'd have cows too.

And maybe Appaloosa and Paso Fino like my uncle Frank did.

I'm trying to get a truck load of horse manure from a neighbor. It's stable cleanings but that should decompose well.

If you ever get to Gainsville or Ocala let me know before hand and I will gather plenty for you. I put it in bags for a few friends who like to use the fresh manure. A bit whiffy but good for the plants. I perfer composted and have many piles of it that we use to improve the pasture and garden. Everything goes into compost with perlite. A good mix but can clump sometimes. Just let me know. Good day.

Yoy might also look around for horse farms, they often have manure that is free, you load. We could get tons of it if we wanted. Good luck.

Wish I could come down but with the price of gas it would make for some pretty pricey manure.

Shop around your area, there may be more than you can use and most of the time is is free. I hauled in about ten yards before we got the cattle. It sure did improve the sand dune we live on. Try craigslist and your local newspaper. Good luck

Forgot to mention that the reason we are growing bassjoos is to use as fodder for the cattle. If it grows fast and pumps out the pups it will save some feed coins. It's getting expensive to eat lately and veggies and beef go good together for us. Might even try eating the stem.
