Re: Manzano flowering in Phoenix!
Very nice congratulations!
How long did it take to flower? I just planted mine last "winter" here in south Florida |
Re: Manzano flowering in Phoenix!
I acquired it as an apple sized corm, with no roots or above ground growth two summers ago (this will be the third summer). It is pretty established now though, and has three large psudo stems, and along with the flower it pushed about 7 pups out of the ground when the weather warmed this year.

Manzano takes average about 300 days here to flower. Zone 8b/close to 9a.

Perfect timing. Congratulations.

Re: Manzano flowering in Phoenix!
I don't have an exact measurement, but I would guess it's a bit over nine feet to the flower. That's based on the 10-foot wall I can see behind it, it's a bit shorter than that.

Re: Manzano flowering in Phoenix!
My largest ever to bloom was 14'. The way they look makes them look even taller. At 10' you should still have a very nice bunch. Congrats. Takes them forever to ripe here. 5 months or so.
