If you've seen aHUGE banana plant pic here, please read...

Saw a pic of a HUGE banana plant in front of a ?blue house. The plant was on the side, taken from far away -as one could see the whole side of house and plant. The plant was taller than the apex of the house. Been TRYING to find it; going back & looking in my history pages to -to no avail.
Does anyone have an idea where to look?

Holy Moly Cow... that's a big'un... but, no, this plant was right in front of the side of the house
House was dark blue/grey I'm thinking. You could see the whole house side, plant and sky behind- was taken a good distance so as to show the enormous size of the plant.
But... thank you!! bunches!

But, GREAT pics to help get my point across.
THANKS!

I think that pic might be one that Abnshrek posted. I think the banana was a tall Orinoco, and I think it was against a side of the house with a wooden outdoor staircase going up behind the banana to the 2nd floor/'attic landing' of the house. I think the house was blue.

Abnshrek, am I remembering that right? Does that ring a bell?

Well I'll be... that "Rmplmnz's Saba" pic illustrates what I was trying to tell my other half even better than the house pic I was looking for... although .... I laughed when I saw the blue house pic posted because it totally fits my description... yet isn't the one (say the above house pic is taken at ? maybe 5-5:30 of the apex... the one I was looking for would be more like 7-7:30 and double or so the distance).
REGARDLESS, my better half can now see how big some of these puppies get!
For that, thank you BOTH bunches!

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of. Talk about some happy Namwahs!

Turns out it wasn't the pic Lawler was looking for, but it's still a great pic. Thanks for re-posting it. :bananas_b

This doesn't even look real! (it's not 'shopped, is it?)

I can only imagine the reaction from the better half when I try to bring this one in the house over the winter...

Yes its real, but is technically an ensete and not a banana (musa). They do eventually produce little seeded bananas though, but dont naturally produce pups like musa.

Thanks Richard!

That banana patch was epic....I prepped the soil with 1,000 pounds of shrimp shells I got (for free) from a local shrimp processing plant (fights nematodes) and a 1,000 pounds of horse poo (for free from a local stable)..and then the rains came....8 hurricanes in 4 years...

The pseudostems were over five feet in circumference....

I later planted a Red Iholene in the same area that grew over 20 feet...Don & Katie Chafin, Going Bananas still have pictures I gave them that they display in a little book at plant shows/sales...
