Re: I have green spots on my yellow bananas... Safe to eat?
Looks like it just needs to get a little more ripe. ... Many be if we knew kind of banana (plantation?) it is, then we might know what it should look like when ripe.

Re: I have green spots on my yellow bananas... Safe to eat?
Correct me if I'm wrong. It's a store bought cavendish. They take forever to ripe without Ethylene. My cav and Orinocos I always have to ripen. Especially when picked early. I use apples but big banana companies use pure gas.
My guess is somehow the fingers got some oil of some type on them and the Ethylene wasn't able to penatrate the oil to ripen in that area. Just my wild guess. |

Could be "banana pox"

This happens sometimes, I don't know the exact reason off the top of my head but I can assure you they are safe to eat, it's purely cosmetic. With a few extremely specific and rare exceptions, plant diseases cannot hurt you unless you are a plant.

You do realize that "Saint Patricks Day" is coming up!
It may be an Irish variety.:2188: |

Flower thrips oviposition scars, perfectly safe to eat, otherwise I would have been dead long ago.
