what role does low humidity have on banana leaves the last few days the humidity has been 40%

Low humidity coupled with high temperatures and under watering = crispy banana leaves at least it did with my Siam Ruby. Humidity is usually not a problem here in the uk so when it does occur it can catch people out with the more delicate species.
