The Helen's genuine fruits became ripe
The Helen's genuine fruits(father and mother are Helen's) are now ripe.
They look like ordinary edible bananas. There are little flesh and a lot of solid seeds. At the same time, the fruits of Helen's as mother and Basjoo as father are also ripe. They look a litte bit skinny. They grew on the same flower bud. I don't know the reason why. There are seemingly less seeds than Helen's genuine fruits. I don't know why. Now the taste of the both fruits was about the same. The tasted like Velutina fruits and not so sweet as publicly advertized. No fragrance at all. |
Re: The Helen's genuine fruits became ripe
In fruit original Musa Helen's hybrid it is a lot of seeds and not enough pulp.

Re: The Helen's genuine fruits became ripe
I'd be interested to see what the hybrid basjoo x 'Helen's Hybrid' plants would be like. Hopefully a cold-hardy, edible type. Who knows, maybe even seedless. I sure hope you plan on germinating those seeds.
