Forked leaves

While investigating possible choking on an E. ventricosum 'Maurelii' I discovered odd forking in the midrib of various leaves. This is one of a large number that I propagated from a large corm last fall, so I'm really hoping that the issue doesn't extend to the other (right now much smaller) siblings.

That's cool!
Why would you want it to stop.

Fukushima finally made it to Washington, I guess... :D

Thanks for sharing those pictures! Really cool! Is the forking only happening on one plant, or multiple? If multiple, I want one. This might a good plant to propagate later on to see if it happens again. Keep the pictures coming.

We don't need Fukushima here. We have Hanford.:ha::ha:

I agree... possibly a cool mutation. You might be able to sell them!

Re: Forked leaves

More likely just a confused growth point coming out of the undifferentiated callus I produced it from. The leaves have difficulty exiting the pseudostem, so I'm not sure if it's really a viable form for maturing plants. I'll have to let the other plants grow a bit to make sure they're typical, but I'll let you guys know if I find more of these.

I'm curious to know how it does and if you find more like this, too.
