Anybody know how long does it take (months) for the DB takes from start to flower till ripe or harvest time.
The reason I am asking is I have a DB that any time now will flower so I know if the frost will get them or me come summer time.

From flower to harvest on average runs somewhere between 100 and 130 days... that is a general # not specifically directed at the Dwarf Brazilian... but that would be pretty close, it all depends on the condition of weather and overall "happiness" of the banana plant in question.

Organic or chemical food?

Care to share that source? I was thinking of using fert from dr.earth.

If this could help fellow banana growers out, at my (real) job we get dry soluble kelp powder by the ton. We also get dry soluble humic by the ton. If any one needs (a pound or up to a 55 pound bag) let me know, I can get it for you at cost. The kelp is $4.25/lbs and the humic is $2.00/lbs. I have 2 tons of kelp and 40 tons of humic in inventory. 1 pound of kelp will make a very nice 5 gallon liquid solution, 1 pound of humic will make 10 gallons of humic acid. In my greenhouse yy bananas are hooked to a dripper system with a fertilizer injector, every time I water it feeds them kelp, humic and fish. The plants seem to really like this mix.

H Brix

Sure beats the prices I paid for this stuff. Thanks for the reminder about the fish emulsion. The complete "super boost" regimen for potted plants, according to the literature and several experts, is liquid kelp, humic acid, fish emulsion and of course fertilizer. The amendments don't replace the fert but are intended to work with it. My Siam Ruby and Ae Ae are sick again and I am hoping they recover. I'll be in touch once I use up what I bought already.
