Does Sucker removal slow growth
 

Can people please tell me do sucklers that are removed and transplanted grow any slower or quicker than when still atached to the parent plant.

For a short time they will slow down until they make a large root mass. Also water suckers will always grow much slower.

Yes I am aware that water Suckers are slower But what I need to know about how much sucker removal slows down fruiting of the sucker compared to leaving it on the Parent Plant

If you leave it on mother plant, it's not good for fruiting.

Pups will slow the growth of the mother plant. Pups if removed without damaging roots will have minimal effect on mother plant. :^)

I think the question is will the pup grow faster if removed and planted or will it grow faster if you leave it attached to the main corm. :)

Pup will probably grow faster is attached to the parent, as it can share resources. If there are not too many pups leave it attached.

FYI, there is another reason for leaving some pups attached: they help anchor and stabilize the parent pseudostem. Some varieties seem to lose root mass quickly after flowering, and the pup provided additional root mass to help hold up the parent.
