It’s a valid question, but a bit like asking “what’s the best beer (or wine)?”

The answer will depend upon a variety of factors, mostly subjective. There are many nuances of flavor which are difficult to describe - and which vary even among similar varieties grown in different locations.

I’d suggest starting by going to a small market (probably ethnic) and buying a couple types to taste: Manzano, burro, etc. Then eat them at different stages of ripeness. Then try a blind taste test and see if you can guess which is which. And which you like better - and why.

Happy discovery!

I see what you mean, but I was trying to figure out what you’re guys favorites are, not mine. I want to tissue culture some bananas and then plant them in the future when I have some space for them

My vote is SH 3640 for ornamental value, disease tolerance, cold tolerance, not toppling with heavy fruit, nice sized fruit, and I really like the flavor.
