I had this conversation with Gabe many moons ago and we decided that you can call them trees. There was some technicality that I have since forgot.

Several years ago when my dad saw my first bunch of fruit he said he thought it looked pretty good and that it should do even better the following year. I explained to him that it would die shortly after I harvested the fruit. He said it was stupid to be growing if they only fruited once. I reminded him that he had grown thousands of acres of corn plants. Somehow I think this is related to this discussion. :)
