Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

I only bought a half a tray and after everyone took their portion, there isn't any little prince left. I suppose if you and others wanted more little prince I could request a full tray for next delivery. Otherwise only the aforementioned plugs are left.

Hey~

Still waiting for a response. I sent my email address as you requested. Haven't heard from you.

Is everything still on for the 'Truly Tiny' and the 'High Color Mini' ?

Since I haven't heard frrm you, you can cancel our agreement, which you have failed to honor, and have ignored since we made our agreement.

Hmmm...Jeff, if you haven't sent my Saba yet, I might still be interested in a plug of TT and/or African Rhinohorn. I could send a few dollars if you want.

I am starting to be swayed by the talk of growing them overwinter for summertime......:2745:

I have been super busy lately, so maybe a good thing for you since your corm didnt ship yet. Do you want some truly tiny and some high color minis ? They are only 1.10 each. Your order is going out tomorrow (tuesday), so let me know quick...

That's about all that's left..I shipped what was left of the african rhino horns to Keith Benson.

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

Robert,

I emailed you that I was swamped with work. These plants that I have sent out to others was at my wholesale cost and at shipping cost. I offered these plants to people on this site out of the generosity and kindness of my heart. It's a lose-lose situation for me as it takes my time to box them up and not to mention waiting in line at the post office AND gas just getting these things to the post office. Most people would be grateful to get these plants at these prices (1.10 each) regardless if it took a week or 3 months...(most sell on ebay for 9-15 dollars per plant!). In your case it was a 2 week lag. Anyhow, this reminds me of someone looking a gift horse in the mouth...geez

later..

I think $$ would be better. I can paypal you the difference, otherwise i'd be up to my ears in luffas.

Hahaha! Yes you would be..... Don't Paypal the difference. Too hard. Maybe one day it will come in handy...

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

smart idea about growing the bananas for next summer. These little guys grow fast and you'll have something fun to grow through the winter and some beauties to plant out in the spring.

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

I sure hope so. I also think it is a smart idea to get the tray from ag. starts and just sell them right when you get them, rather than a whole half tray. You are getting quite a good reputation!except for robert, but it was just a lack of communication, no biggie:2180:

I still have a few truly tiny and high color minis...would you like some now?

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

I know nothing about either of those. Do you have any pics or could you tell me about them. How tall they grow, if they fruit etc...

jeffreyp 10-18-2006 08:42 PM

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

all of these produce edible bananas. High color mini is a super dwarf cavendish type. Truly tiny is a super dwarf version of the 'brazilian' banana.

Truly tiny was developed by a grower about 1/2 mile from my house. The nursery is called "truly tropicals" - hence the name truly tiny. The owner says this is a dwarf form of the brazilian banana. So it's probably the only dwarf non cavendish type of desert banana around.

Little prince is an extra super dwarf cavendish.

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

How big does the fruit get on these and are there any growing considerations during the winter indoors?

jeffreyp 10-19-2006 03:36 PM

Re: AGRISTARTS BANANA TRAYS - Splitting trays

high color mini produces smaller sized cavendish desert type bananas. Truly tiny produces bunches of brazilian type bananas. The only consideration is give them enough light, water, and keep an eye out for spider mites.

Hello, I am new to the forum but I am very interested in bananas. I am currently growing an unknown, to myself, banana but I would interested in the Red Iholene. What kind of cost are we talking about?

Thanks,

Thanks,

the trays are 72 count and 1.10 per plant. Trays can be split in 50% of one variety and 50% of another variety for an 18 dollar fee (from agristarts).
