ID please - narrow-leaved species growing in Peninsular Thailand

Can anyone ID this low-growing, narrow-leaved species ?

Plants are 1.5 meters tall.
Came across this wild species of banana, growing in primary rainforest in Peninsular Thailand.
It was lowland forest (ca. 200 meters)

IŽd be very thankful if anyone can help.

It's very difficult to tell much from that photo, did you see any plants at in the area with any kind of flower or fruit? Do you have any close up photos of the pseudostem or petioles?

Yes, my images are sparse, so it is a nearly impossible challenge.
No flowers or fruits were present.

Here is another photo.
Again, somewhat narrow banana leaves.

Is anyone here familiar with a checklist of banana species of Thailand ?

It's not some kind of heliconia?

Here is a key (based off floral characteristics) of Musa of Northern Thailand, the name blocked out by the bananas.org logo is a new species Musa nanensis. Without fruit or flowers its not really possible to give a solid ID, but I would say they are some type of M. acuminata.

Thank you very much. That key to the species of Northern Thailand is a good starting point.

Yes, it is unfortunate that I didn't see any flowers on the plants.
Hopefully I'll return to that rainforest some day.

It is certainly a wild plant, growing in primary rainforest. Not a garden ornamental.

Cheers,
Tobias

ornamental doesn't mean that it is not a "wild" plant. it normally means that it does not produce edible fruit.

Yes, in that case looks like heliconias.

In that sense, it is indeed an ornamental plant with banana like leaves (it is a banana).

I agree, but no species of Heliconia grow in that part of the world, except as a garden ornamental. It must be a kind of Musa.
Beautiful with those narrow leaves.

By the way, here are a couple of photos of the landscape in the area.
