Winterizing a banana tree with bubble wrap

Winterizing A Banana Tree With Bubble Wrap

I read online awhile ago about using various types of bubble wrap to
winterize a banana tree. I think, I read it from the Northwest Palm's forum. They claim that with bubble wrap, you don't need to dig up the banana tree or cut it down. I am just curious if anybody on here tried it before or knows anything about it. I live in zone 6b in Southern Ohio and this is my first year growing bananas. I would hate to dig up my banana trees every winter. :choochoo:

This method is only suitable for basjoos/ Sikkims growing in climates with mild winters, and only light frosts (Such as London UK and Vancouver BC).

Living in Ohio there is no way around it, get some hay, chicken-wire, and a big sheet of plastic if you want bigger plants year after year!
