Orinoco

I still see no signs of life from my orinoco. It has been in the ground for four years. Is there any hope?

Meaning it has regrown every year?

I am sorry I was not clear. It hs grown bigger and bigger for the four years but it hasn't shown any new growth yet this year. We had a pretty tough winter with a low of 10 degrees according to my thermometer. I live in Chesapeake, VA which is considered zone 7b or 8a.

lacopeland,hey there I am about 60 miles south of you and my plants have just started to grow.My basjoos and rihnohorns are only about 8 inches so far.Even my overwintered plants are barely growing.This is the worst growing season and now this north easter is not helping us.Hang in there hopefully it will happen for us.

I dug around it yesterday and didn't see any pups. It was not mushy so hopefully this is a good sign. To my new banana friend in Nags Head, I was just visiting the latter part of April. I really enjoy the area.

I was going to replace mine with Musa manni, when I noticed my 'Orinoco' was growing back. I didn't even mulch it this year, but it is against the side of the house. Think I'll replace it anyways.
