hopefully this basjoo makes it through the winter
 

its a couple hours drive north of here and i am worried about the water table being so close.. like maybe it is detached from the ground heat
could have use more wood chips i think but i ran out of time
we will see come spring

I am assuming this is the first winter for that guy in that spot? It will definitely be interesting to see how it fares. In my experience basjoos are pretty tolerant of some degree of wetness over the winter - however, I did lose a basjoo one winter due to poor placement and puddling. Keeping my fingers crossed and, as always, keep us posted.
