Help! Some of my plants have died back to soil line!
I am worried because a couple of my bananas have died back to the soil level. They were all doing great right after I brought them indoors! Yes I know that this is Fall and I have to expect some decline of the plants. However, I don’t think that dying back to the soil level is considered a normal amount of decline! I noticed that my soil in the containers always seems to be dry as the Sahara desert! I am beginning to think using only peat moss might not have been the best thing to do! Now normally I only water the plants once a week. Should I water several times a week now? How about giving them a little food as a little boost? Do you think the plants might be dead? Any thoughts or comments? Thanks in advance!:lurk:

We need pics! The soil should not be that dry.

I suspect your plants are staying tooo dry. But without seeing the corm & roots I'm guessing. The soil does need to hold some water. ... You should use a regular potting soil mixed 50%/50% with course sand or perlite in a pot with drain holes at the bottom.
