Could be. But they also tend to lose redness when exposed to the sun, so it could be that, too.

They were mostly under the shade cloth at the nursery...

Well we ALMOST had a freeze! I ran out and wrapped all the bananas in blankets and towels, all snug. Then I covered the base with soil too. But then it only got down to 36F so it didn't actually freeze at all.

But.. I have some browning leaves. :vbseo_replace_urls("( Some look very good, some look rather unhappy. None look dead though. So we shall see how they pop back out with the warming weather.

Nice deal! A Grand Nain is in the Cavendish family, and as far as I know you can tell a Cavendish from other bananas by looking at the young leaves of the suckers. The young sucker leaves should have a light red camouflage on the surface. :D
