Re: Malaysian bananas
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. Sorry I can't help with ID's but I enjoyed the pics anyway.

Re: Malaysian bananas
The 2nd photo is Pisang Mas, the 6th likely Pisang Awak, and the wild one at the end some form of M. acuminata. The rest of them need more detailed photos, but I don't know the cultivars there well anyways.

Re: Malaysian bananas
All of those wild ones you saw are different types of M. acuminata, it is an extremely diverse species with many, sometimes ill-defined, forms. The erect bunches ones appear to be something I have only ever heard about in conversation, but not seen photos of. They look to be erect bunched M. acuminata. The one with the red bud could be a form of subsp. malaccensis but I'm not so sure on these.

Re: Malaysian bananas
Many thanks, very beautiful pictures:woohoonaner:! Rainforests are very diverse and beautiful in itself, they comprise the big variety of a life, both plants, and animals, insects. I admire this miracle! The nature proves in all delights. It seems to me there even it is possible to meet not described varieties of bananas.
