I have question for you professionals. I got a small banana plant from some one who hade a large mat that was about twelve feet tall about two years ago. I decided right or wrong that it was a brazilian after seeing one fruit. The owners brought the property with them and did not know anything about bananas. I got another small plant from another location that was poorly taken care of and they were only about six feet tall. The Unknown one is finally fruiting. It grew to twelve feet tall and is all green. It looks exactly like the plant I call Brazilian. The nectar that came from the flower is sweet unlike some of the cooking bananas. The flower looks the same as my Brazilian flower. The plant is flowering late in my season and I don’t know how far they are going get before the off-season. Do sweet nectar mean they are desert bananas? Are these plants the same? Do I have to harvest bananas from the plant before I would be able to tell? I will try to upload some pictures. This will be my first attempt so if it doesn’t work there will be pics in my Album.

Thank you
