They seem too big for sweetheart but I dont know. Its a keeper whatever it is. Noce size and good flavor. It needed propping though.

Shape is correct for sweetheart, but they are much bigger size fruits than mine or my buddies produces here in florida. maybe a just a well feed plant? One trait I always remember when eating a sweetheart is that the texture of the outer flesh is perfect but the inner core is mushy/slimy

The plant didn't get any special care. It was pretty neglected actually. These are just really big fruits.

Heres the bananas on the right, store fruit on the left.

The sweethearts taste decent. They are a little mushy compared to store fruit. I think namwahs and cavendish fruits are better.

From that bunch photo they look like a Maoli, any photos of the plant?

Re: Fruit ID?

Gabe, I think the Maoli bananas are slightly longer and more curved; these have very little curve to them.

It kind of resembles a photo I saw years ago of a Goldfinger. Also the Goldfinger has a sparse number of 'fingers' on the hand, most Maoli's I've seen had more fingers.

(yeah, I know Gabe has more 'nana experience in his little finger than most of us together... but I still think I'm correct in this instance - he's only human, and can't possibly remember everything)

It could be FHIA-03 ("Sweetheart"), but that is why I think it's necessary to see more photos of the plant, basing IDs off fruit alone can be quite difficult.

The type of Maoli I was thinking of for comparison would be one more like this:
