Hi, I saw this banana plant at the yearly Indonesian market (pasar malam besar) in our town.
It about 2 meters tall and has little (edible) fruits. The bigger leafs look like the cavendish, leaves feel more fragile and the nanner has no red on any leave. Do you know the name of this nanner? Last edited by marenmar : 05-28-2009 at 01:40 PM. |

dwarf cavendish lose there red coloring when older im not saying thats what it is the pictures are kind of dark but the bloom kind of looks like it but ... ill let someone else be the judge

I also thought Cavendish at first, knowing the red colour will fade. But the younger plants don't have any colour either. Besides, its stem is not as red as the Cavendish, more green and a lot thinner. Hopeffully someone else knows.. |

Something about that bud reminds me of 'Raja Puri'. Not the best lighting, so it's hard to tell. Can you post some additional pictures in better light?

Look through Media Hound's gallery. I think he has some good photos of what 'Raja Puri's' infloresence looks like. Or, just do a search for Raja Puri in the photo gallery section.

bananaman88 is right raja puri i can see the stem on it but if no red or brown color i would guess at that
