I can't tell the difference between most common banana varieties by looking at leaves like that, but, remember that chances are most "Ice Cream" or "Blue Javas" out there are actually Namwahs. Not all but most.

There's no way you could tell from that photo. Buy it and do a $25 experiment. Tell him you'll want you money back in a year when it fruits and it is not actually "Ice Cream". :ha:

$25 isn't too far out of line, even if it isn't a real Blue Java.
... maybe I should start TCing ours though, I usually just give our "spares" away to locals.

$25 for a nanner that tall, I'd take it regardless if it was a Blue Java, Orinoco, Namwah, etc. All I can get are shipped little things at or under 12".
