Thank you for your post on M. Basjoo Ariel. I have many mats of M. Basjoo here in Japan and I have already succeeded in growing M. Basjoo from seeds. Every year I harvest at least one bunch of well pollinated Basjoo fruits, but the seeds do not sprout very easily. sometimes it takes about 2 years for the seeds to germinate. I was aware that M. Basjoo are not native in Japan neither in the Ryukyu Islands. I have a good collection of Basjoo grown from seeds meaning I have a new generation of Basjoo plants in Japan. I heard that even in China M. Basjoo are propagated from sucklings or clones. Once again thank you for revealing the M. Basjoo true habitat.
