Blue Java
 

I have always had a Blue Java on my wishlist and a couple of years ago, my husband surprised me with one. I am learning how many are not actually blue java, so I had him go back and look where he purchased it. He originally purchased it from Logee. Does anyone know if their blue Javas are actually blue Java?

Mine is. I got it from Mark Dragt. His is also true. Along with crazy banana, Akula, PR Giant, and probably others. Mine is still too small for pups though. :03:

But congratulations! That means you probably have tall or dwarf namwa! A great variety! :woohoonaner::woohoonaner::woohoonaner:

I guess I’m confused. Are you saying that Logee’s did sell Blue Java, or that they did not?

I said that you probably have a namwa. Every nursery (FHN, wellspring gardens. Ect. All sell namwa as blue java. Just a major flaw\slip up that agri-starts made. Not sure about Logee's but I would assume that they also sell namwa. :nanadrink:

If yours are indeed namwah, as mine were (wellspring gardens).. dont be disappointed! My namwah have turned out beautiful, and a quick internet search will confirm that their fruit is as good or better than blue java! I now have a true blue java, thanks to another forum member, and it is a beautiful plant as well! When looking for banana varieties, ive learned its best to steer clear of large nurseries, and buy from forum members. SDDARKMAN and TYTAYLOR on here have reputable operations, and ou also have other members to trade with or buy from. Best of luck with whatever plant you have!

Are you guys able to tell based on these pics? This is one of the pups I had handy because it’s indoors. I can grab some pics from a more mature one if needed.
