Hello everyone -

New guy here - Live in MN but recently bought a vacation property on Harbor Island SC. Look forward to expand past the hostas in my MN yard. Have Ca Gold and and Ice Cream on the way. Looking forward to going bananas:08:

Would love to hear your story and tips about growing bananas...so much to learn.

Did I make a mistake - ordered plants from Green Earth - now have read some not so great review about not getting what you order. I was use to that back in my hosta collection days - didn't think of it before ordering my bananas.

Don't beat yourself up. Its part of the experience! Kind of like getting hazed in a fraternity!

Probably an 85% probability you will receive something different from what you ordered. Pretty sure sending out the wrong banana plants is built into the business models of just about every online supplier of bananas based on the prevalence.

Good to report what you ordered and what you actually got when its confirmed to keep a log of these charlatans.

Welcome!

Welcome to the banana nut club...
Green earth will send you very hardy and healthy plants, but they will most likely not be what you ordered. I guarantee the Ice cream will be a tall Namwah because I got mine from him the same way. As for the Cali Gold, there is a good 70% chance it won't be what you ordered unless he actually has some in stock and it is where it is supposed to be and labeled correctly.
That said, most people say the Namwah is better tasting, I have never had blue java, but I don't really care much for Namwah, I keep it around for 2 reasons... It's an impressive plant and I can give them all away so I can hoard the good ones when I get them.

Welcome aboard the Banana Express. :nanerwaveytrain:

Nice area down there. I did a stock photo and vid shoot for Palmetto Bluff back in 2008; not too far away. 18F outside, and it was supposed to be summertime for the vids. So I'm dressed for August, freezing my ass off, with my "family" following the cameraman on the golf cart. Had to keep wiping sweat off my brow to look real. Had there been any there for real, it would have been frozen solid.
