Hello from Sweden
Been registred and active (on and off) in a few years now, but havn't posted in the introduction til now.
Growing some banan plants in Sweden - though climate for bananas for sure... still waiting for my first banana, still trying to figure out how to accomplish it ;-) Hope to see the first ones this or next year. Oldest plants are now 3,5 years old... Looking for cold hardy varieties, but most people seems to just ship inside US. Anyway - hope so share some pics of swedish bananas soon :bananas_b |
Re: Hello from Sweden
Welcome, and good luck with the banana's!:bananas_b
I only started this winter, so I have no plants to send to members yet. Only 3 sikkimensis seedlings so far, and 2 plants on their way from Gekko in Thailand. So perhaps in a few years... ;) |

Welcome to the Jungle..:woohoonaner:
You could try to post in the European section to see if you can network with someone for plant sources. There are also a number of sources(sellers) which are named in a number of the threads. |
Re: Hello from Sweden

Re: Hello from Sweden
I suggest you try to get your hands on Dwarf Nam Wah. in my experience the best variety for edible bananas.
Second would be Orinoco. However I always end up getting pest on it. Dwarf Namwah in my view is outstanding and so is the "ice cream". |
Re: Hello from Sweden
Thanks nph. Both nam wah and orinoco is on my most wanted list. Struggling to get my hands on them here in europe though...
Any ebay users shipping to europe? |
