Frost bitten Red Maurelli Bananas

Hi I live in Southern California in the San Fernando Valley. Mild in winter usually. Hot Hot Hot in summer 90's -110 and I have 10 banana plants. we had a wicked frost low 30's (for our area) The ice cream bananas seem to be rebounding and one of the red maurelli's is coming back but I'm not sure about the other two. Even if they do come back all the leaves turned brown and I've cut most away and they are 9 foot trunks with no leaves.

My question is if I cut them down to 2-3 feet will they start sprouting leaves again at that height or will it die?

Just cut the dead leaves off, and they'll resume growth from the top.
