Interesting: Not Yet!

Interesting: Not Yet!
We had 5 hours of subfreezing temperatures last night, bottoming out at -2^C (28^F).
None of my banana plants, not even the E. Maurelii, showed any sign of damage.
The temperatures were recorded at out local weather station, which is located less than
1km (1/2 mile) from my bananas.

Just to clarify: I waited until the temperature was above 6^C (44^F), before coming to
the above conclusion, to make sure, that any frost, that might have been in the leaves
has thawed out.

Actually they will make it, no doubt. I always wait until the leaves are frozen off, before I put
them int hibernation. That has gained me so far another 18 days from the first frost and if the
forecast is correct will gain me at least another week. The PS takes a lot more frost, before it
succumbs to cell destruction. :)
