Mahoi is a dwarf Cavendish type that would do well potted in zone 9. A 30 gallon would probably be sufficient for growth, a step up may be good near shooting time.
FHIA-17 may also be worth experimenting with. The plant should go indoors prior to November 15th and emerge from indoors March 15th.
