Well I agree, except that these are raised beds and the bottoms are lined with newspaper, so it's going to act as a barrier for awhile. Anything I add will be contained for at least a few seasons.
George Webster saved me some time, money and brain wracking with his answer, so I'll get more of the "road muck" and harvest the worms from it now, as it's getting mixed in, in a few months anyway.
