That didn't look like spider mites to me. it looked like the weather. Ours do that sometimes in the spring and in the fall when weather conditions are not just right. Spider mites will cause a silvering look to the leaves, and webs/silvering/gold color on the bottoms of the leaves. Not overall specks and brown spots. That's environmental. Probably too much water. It will grow out of it.
If you found spider mites on other plants in the area though, it's a good thing you treated them. You know this wet weather won't hold out forever, and they will then spread.
