Description

A low plant with short, broad and hard leaves. The fruit which grows on a short rachis in a compact stocky bunch and is edible fresh or cooked when ripe. The skin is yellow when ripe. Ha'a is taller than the introduced 'Chinese banana' that bears larger bunches. The trunk is black, maybe extinct. Fruit and leafstalk are bunched, short rachis.
