Description

Found in the wild in Indonesia, but research indicated that it originated in Papua New Guinea it is almost certainly a wild subspecies of Musa acuminata, such as M. acuminata ssp. Tapo or something similar. flamboyant paddle-shaped dark ruby-red leaves with random flecks of chartreuse green yellow and in rare cases White and bright Pinks. leafs are tipicly held at a slightly higher angle them most Musa plant has been reported to reach heights of 8 to 10ft at maturity has in cultivation survived zones 10 to 9 liking a higher then average level of heat and humidity constant temps above 90 being ideal its reported to be of a sweet and unseeded nature but to date no scientific reported data has been published to support this statement most data comes from Banana.org and its members and is unscientific in nature having no known studies published at this time

Since only one plant was found, it is not yet known whether this is a newly discovered distinct subspecies or a random variant on a previously described subspecies of Musa acuminata, field work needs to be done to determine its status.
