My Tropical yard PICTURES!
While doing this I realized I have 16 kinds of Cannas 16 Kinds Of EE's and 6 Kinds of Bananas- That's not counting all the other single plants I have and all the ones I still want!

What part are you going to? If you're anywhere near Arenal Volcano- I highly recommend Tabacon hot springs. It has the most amazing landscaping and small beautiful pools...

Mine were "Smoothie Collected" seeds in Costa Rica- I always eat (drink actually) them when we're in Colombia, where they they call it Lulo.

For the Ensete you'll need a really big pot- I drive by a fruit stand that had some giant ones that they planted in containers that looked to be as big as a pallet and about 3' high. They moved them...

Welcome from Near Charlotte NC- Charleston should let you grow lots of kinds of bananas, but it still may be a challenge if you want fruit...

Be VERY careful with Mexican Bamboo! I'd risk Standard Bamboo before trying Mexican Bamboo- Do a google search or look at Dave's garden- it can be very invasive.

The Largest are the Colocasia Thai Giant- Those need to be overwinterd indoors.
The ones in the Last Picture are yautia (Xanthosoma) that we got from a latin Grocery store.

A little like Kiwi- but different, personally I think it's almost impossible to describe the taste a fruit.
It's got a harder outside and you generally scoop out the inside.

In Colombia they call it Lulo, and it's used to make a refreshing juice. I've got some seeds started, and plant to try to overwinter it indoors and maybe get fruit next year.....
We'll see.
