I'd try wrapping the pots with heavy blankets and DON'T water, that will only freeze the roots. I'm sure other members will have more advice for you..

Ditto to what Sixtysix posted, that is exactly what I do with my Zebrina every year, I put her in front of my south facing window, just be very careful with the watering, I killed my first one years...

I would plant them in their permanent location now, (depending on the hurricane's direction) there is no point in putting them into pots and then transplanting at a later date.

I can't help but notice that 99% of the containers are black, I was advised many years ago that any plant that gets full sun shouldn't be grown in black because of the sun over heating the roots. So...
