Ben,

My advice: Don't waste time with tetraploids.

Use male fertile or female fertile cultivar bananas - preferably ABBs-in conjunction with cold hardy wilds of the itinerans and basjoo...

Plant patents expire and are not renewable. Here in the U.S. I believe they are 15 years, but that number is worth checking.

Next you have the issue of where the plant is from. Like most fruiting...
