Re: How can I tell when to harvest?
I've never managed to figure out the pic thing on this site (I've actually given up). I just use one of the free hosting sites, and pasted the link.

Re: Winter report
Enjoy. We've been running low/mid 60's this week here in NorCal. I know our neighbor's in SoCal have been 70's. And sunny of course :)

Re: Winter report
Looks like a solid setup. If you're just using Xmas lights however, that may not be enough. I know most years the ground will freeze solid several inches down.

Re: Winter protection?
I have these already (bought from you :) ). I was just curious about how the plant gets energy with no more leaves?

Re: Patiently Waiting on Bananas
The weather when it gets above 90F slows things down, but they still chug along. My guess is it's still a little too young. I know here in zone 9b they take close to 18 months to flower.

Re: musa basjoo New
I have a pup that's on it's 3rd leaf in ground, and it's only now I'm starting to give it some liquid feed. It's around 40cm/1.5ft tall.
I still wouldn't go crazy on the watering, even though...

Re: musa basjoo New
Since they are so stressed, it is way too early to start feeding them. Also, direct sun is a big no no. Nothing but a little water and a shaded area until it starts to push out a new cigar...

Congrats!

I can also vouch for Mark. Really healthy and robust plants. In fact my Tall Namah is already pushing a new cigar leaf every 1.5 weeks!

Namwa in trouble.
So I went on vacation for about 2 weeks with my Namwa pup looking strong and healthy.
