It may throw a leaf here and there but not with any regularity. Don't measure amount of water given to the banana. Let the soil dry out completely. Mine takes around 2 weeks but really depends...

Taro like very moist soil. It needs sun and higher temps. It can also be grown in paddies. I have not grown the edible form(might try next year). But the other forms I grown in my koi pond...

Yeah most definitely Colocasia. Location of how leaf attaches to stem is big tipoff. Many alocasia leafs point upward because the stem runs through the leaf. Colocasia usually droop down

go to user CP and click on tab on left "Edit Options" . In second box look for Recieve email and there is a pull down tab. Change to no email notification.
