On my Banana's inside I use daylight 6500 cfl's to winter them over until they go back outside. They grow some but are mostly dormant in my 60ºF dimly light basement. I use them when starting any...

Yes they are in pots, 25 to 30 gallon pots. We will have to cut the pots off. It is next to impossible extra large pots.

I will add large saucers to my plants that have heat/water issues.
The excess runoff is usually absorbed within a few hours on a hot day and your plant will thank you for it.
And you plants will not...

Your water is flowing out the sides between the soil and pot.
If you scruff up the top few inches of the soil you will close that gap and your plant will get the more water it needs.

Now is the time to repot the plants into a fast draining mix. 50% -50% potting soil & perlite. ... by doing this you can visually inspect the corm for root rot and clean with bleach water...

Thanks .... The plants are much bigger than I thought. They should have many more leaves than what's there now. Without the leaves they can't expire much water. Check the soil moisture...

Years ago I was very active here and grew over 30 varieties of bananas. Getting a Gros Michel plant was akin to catching a leprechaun! I did manage to get a couple at great expense sent from Hawaii...

I just received some Ensete Glaucum seeds ,,,,I am going to give it a go too.

I do not see why it would not work because there are many plants which rely on help from their rotting fruit.

Both seem to be doing very well. I will separate them when they are about 2 ft high.

On another note, i bought 30 seeds and only 2 germinated! I still have the other seeds keeping them warm and damp...
