Re: Naranjilla (Solanum quitoense)

These plants become big shrubs. A 15-gallon is about right for the 1st 5 years. Expect 2-4 inch diameter trunks.

Several members of my club grow black sapote right here in zone 9b. Shows up often on the tasting table. Tastes best whipped up with miracle whip.

Re: How long are banana seeds typically viable for?

I think most lose viability fairly quickly. That being said, I did have two Musella lasiocarpa germinate after over a year, but that's two out of several hundred seeds. So, a percentage might...

Re: How long are banana seeds typically viable for?

Pawpaw Power!

In April my parents' pawpaw patch was full of blooms and some tiny fruitlets. Unfortunately, by May the little fruitlets had all disappeared, and the flowering ceased. The trees were absolutely...

Re: Physalis: ground cherry and Cape gooseberry

Agreed, and that goes for both species. The fun thing is, they truly do litter the ground with treats. Even better is that they reseed themselves (if in the right environment) really, really well. My...

Re: Harvey & Son Michael's 2012 Tomato Garden

No, that's not one we're growing. I thought about it but found some comments that made it sound like maybe the flavor wasn't very impressive. I look forward to hearing on how it does for you and...
