I never had tostones/patacon and would like to try to cook some. The thing is that I don't have any plantain right now but a lot green cavendish...is it doable ?

What I did in my garden (subtropical asia) is to engage a mercenary ! I searched and found local weeds that are useful to me and introduced them in the garden....

I think that PK would grow fine here and the wind resistance is a big plus since we regulary get typhoons.

Your case is a little bit similar to mine: the first bananas i ever harvested weren't mine and i never had a taste !
My job was to take care of a garden during three months, the owner weren't there...
