Of course, there is always this aspect of the DC area pond scene ... (from the Dec 2009 blizzard).
Fortunately, the goldfish don't mind too much - I've seen them in frozen in ice and they thaw okay...

Oh, its a quarter circle - 16 foot by 16 foot but just 1 foot deep ... too shallow for fun fish like koi,
but the goldfish and shebunkins have a blast in it. Tadpoles too, when I can get...
