Re: Best Banana fertilizer
The best fertilizer is the Fruit Fuel for banana plants. It is a water soluble 16-8-24 (N-P-K) fertilizer with micronutrients. Feel free to send me a PM, willing to share my order.

Re: Fruit Fuel 16-8-24 2018 UPDATE
Yes. I still share my personal order with other bananas.org members.
For potted plants I would recommend a tablespoon per gallon of water once per month, so one bag should last you until you plant...

Re: New SoCal Member
Welcome to bananas.org.
The varieties you have listed will do well in Thousand Oaks. Mysore is a subgroup of several varieties. Examples and some of my favorites would be the Pisang Ceylon or Pisang...

Fruit Fuel (16-8-24) all the way. I put way too much time and effort in growing my banana plants and want a decent harvest.

Re: Hello all from sugar land, texas!
Welcome to bananas.org. Your Fruit Fuel fertilizer is on the way.
Nothing wrong with Home Depot/Lowes banana plants, just be prepared that they might not be what the glossy label says they are.
If...

Re: Abacaxi Pineapple Plant
Where do you find a Sugarloaf with smooth leaves? I should separate pups and slips way more often, but my skin is reacting allergic to the spiny leaves of my plants.

Re: Abacaxi Pineapple Plant
Nice. Congratulations.
Have you tried the Sugarloaf variety yet? It is also a white fruit, nice and sweet with an edible core. I have 10 plants fruiting right now.

Re: Bunches not ripening
High nitrogen fertilizer like chicken manure will do nothing to a mature fruiting plant.
It takes an average of 6 month for the fruits to fill in and develop properly. At this point all you can do is...

Looks like Namwah to me. I concur with Gabe, Namwah taste by far better than Blue Java bananas. However, Blue Java bananas can be eye candy though.
