And maybe because this banana has endured cold weather here it...

Re: Search for pups (smaller species, for 3 degrees C and up)

Dwarf Orinoco grows well in cold weather, I overwintered mine at 5-10C without problems. I might have some pups for sale later this year.

Re: The North Carolina Banana Experiment

What I do it's simple, because of the tall leaves I cut them inhale when I put the banana inside the house. They grow they I cut more. It's better then let it die outside.

Re: Spider Mites on Banana plants

Maybe I can help you. I just cut the leaves of infested bananas. This year it seems to infect almost all of them.
May I ask you what do you need it for?

Re: The Effect of Gibberellic Acid (GA) Sprays on M. 'Truly Tiny'

No, I tried only on dwarf Cavendish.
Truly tiny is a diploid developed by agristarts. I don't know how they made it, but it is similar to super dwarf Cavendish.

Re: The Effect of Gibberellic Acid (GA) Sprays on M. 'Truly Tiny'

Yeas pseudostem, my phone has a small screen to reply. I make banana tissue culture and used GA3 to have taller plants but the stem is not so strong. And yes it does get taller, I don't know about...

Re: The Effect of Gibberellic Acid (GA) Sprays on M. 'Truly Tiny'

That is what I was saying. I know how prepare Ga3 and many other chemicals. I use rubbing alcohol 99%, it is easier and less dangerous to plants than methanol and distilled water at 50 C. Dissolving...

Re: The Effect of Gibberellic Acid (GA) Sprays on M. 'Truly Tiny'

It depends how you made the GA3 soluble in water., it is an insoluble acid. I might be that at a higher concentration solubility was higher thus having an effect.
At over 200ppm it should have had an...

Re: Problems after moving plants inside

Relative humidity is based on the temperature. The low temperature outside has a higher RE. Inside the house because of the heating RE drops to 40-50% during the winter, which is stress on bananas....

Re: Need help with Cavendish

That container doesn't seem to me to be 30 gal, rather 15-20.
Dwarf Cavendish in growing and blooming fast once it has proper nutrients and a large size container 15 gal, should be enough.
Grown in...

Re: Found a seed in a Namwa nana

I ate Michel bananas that produce seeds. Not many, maybe 1-3 each or none. They are used for breeding.
This is possible with AA group because the parent Musa acuminata has seeds.

Re: fruit in container

Yes it does. This is the way I grow papayas to prevent root rot.
However bananas require lots of water, that means watering your plants two times a day during hot summer or even more. The soil will...

You callus didn't grow most likely because of lack of auxins. By the way auxins disintegrate when exposed to light and heat. So...

No, you don't need to vent them.
Was the callus brown after all?
Maybe your PGR was not well dosed.
