Thank you for your reply Melendez. The flavor is much like the Monkey Banana grown in the Bonin Islands, Japan. It is very sweet indeed!

I have two gardens. One is in Okinawa, a subtropical island in Japan where it doesn’t snow. The other garden is in mainland Japan where we do have snow and the temperature drops to minus 2 centigrade...

Yuri Barros, the Basho we have in Okinawa is not the M. Basjoo. It is the Musa Balbisiana variation Liukiuensis. The real M. Basjoo is not grown in Okinawa. I have the M. Basjoo planted in my home...
