I agree with Iowa ... commercial potting soil is OK ... with or without fertilizer. Some of the Dollar store brands do not have or has very little fertilizer.

The leaves are stacked really close together and there is a hint at 'wine stains' on the leaves, ... so these are SDC or may be Truly Tiny. Real Truly Tinys should not have wine stains but many SDC...

Their growing instructions is solid for banana plants taller than 30" and mirrors those given by other forum members & myself. .... But if their plants are TC's in 2", 4" or 6" pots & only about 6"...

Just mist the plant and move it out of the direct sun; just give it bright light. Only water the pot IF the bottom of the pot is near dry. Check the soil though the drain holes.

I haven't heard of them before. They are in South Carolina. ... Looking at their BJ listing and the statement under 'pollination info' is pure BS. So they are just trying to push their sells....

What type of banana do you have? Apparently it is a dwarf of some kind.
So how tall is the pstem? 5 ft to 8 ft is about the max. height the pstem will have.



The plants need water or shading...

Wrong ... I'm in zone 8 and had 24 bunches last year. Do a forum search for 'cold hardy' bananas. Because of the shorter growing season dwarf types would be better. .... And stop cutting...

That plant appears to be close to blooming. The leaves at the top are stacked out. And, there could be a choke. Is there a noticeable bulge in the pstem?

Without pictures it is a guess. ... However, new growing leaves with yellowish coloring is an indication of lack of fertilizer more particularly nitrogen. It can be corrected by foliar spraying...
